Dr. Ghulam Hassan
Dr Ghulam Hassan,the Medical Director, completed his MBBS and MD( Internal Medicine) degrees from the University of Kashmir through Government Medical College, Srinagar. Completed Programs of Junior-and Senior Residency in Internal Medicine and allied Specialties at the Government Medical College, Srinagar and Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences.
He served as Consultant at the Postgraduate Department of Medicine, Government Medical College , Srinagar ( 2007 to 2O18). During this period, besides patient care and teaching medical graduate and postgrudate students,
He got involved in extensive medical research. He opted for the career in Sleep Medicine from 2009, and after acquiring many Fellowships and Training Programs at Fortis Hospital,Delhi; Nithra Institute of Sleep Sciences, Chennai; Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai ;
ACE School of Sleep Medicine, under mentorship of American Board Certified Sleep Specialists, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, including prestigious Fellowship of the Indian Sleep Disorders Association, at Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi.
He passed the Board examination in Sleep Medicine through the World Sleep Federation accredited by the Indian Board of Sleep Medicine in 2014, entitling him as the first Board Certified Sleep Specialist of Jammu and Kashmir State.
Meanwhile he completed his Diplomat program in Respiratory Medicine from the King George Medical University Lucknow in 2011, and Diplomat in Allergy from the Christian Medical College, Vellore, India, endorsed by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology ( 2011).
Additionally he got certified trainings in pediatric and adult Allergy Sciences through the World Allergy Organization ; Munster University, Germany; Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute and Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, University of Delhi ; SMS Medical College, Jaipur ; JSS Medical College, Mysore ; Indian College of Allergy, Asthma and Applied Immunology, and, Indian Academy of Allergy ( 2010 to 2018).
He got certified in the advanced medical management of psoriasis through the International Psoriasis Council and American Academy of Dermatology ( 2018 to 2022). His constant hardwork and devotion to patient care and medical research made him to flourish and till date he has over 150 publications in national/ international medical journals including 11 book chapters to his credit.
Dr. Ghulam Hassan is author of the first book chapter in World History entitled ” FOOD ALLERGY INSOMNIA” that got published in a book on Allergy and Immunotherapy, published through Apple Academic Press,CRC, USA (2016). He is author of published research work on recently recognized entity “Gujjar Lung” and author of the largest community- based survey on chronic obstructive lung diseases in India ( conducted over population of 1,32,581 in Bishnah area of Jammu region in 2006).
Also, he is authour of first medial survey on ” Prevalence of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Among Long Distance Commercial Truck Drivers of India”. He has been awarded the prestigious Fellowships by the American College of Chest Physicians, National College of Chest Physians of India , International Medical Sciences Academy, Indian Academiy of Clinical Medicine,and Indian College of Allergy, Asthma and Applied Immunology, during his academic career.
He is active member of the World Allergy Organisation, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, European Respiratory Society, European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Indian Medical Association, Association of Physicians of India, Indian Academy of Clinical Medicine, Indian Academy of Allergy, and Allergy Asthma Network of India.
He has been chairperson and speaker during many national, international medical conferences and academic events since 1999. He is in medical practice in the field of Allergy and Sleep Sciences since 2012, and laid a landmark in India in establishing KASHMIR INSTITUTE OF ALLEGY AND SLEEP SCIENCES (2019) that is the first center in Asia having evidence- based services of both Allergy and Sleep Sciences under one roof, and, first center in India authorized by the American Drug Affairs for import and human use of USFDA- approved Allergy products to this country.
This institution is registered by the Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Directorate General of Foreign Trade and the various State Government authorities. This institution is also a partner of the Caharitable Services backed up by the Internationl Asthma Services and Colorado Allergy,Asthma Society, USA.
This is the first Institution of country, in process of establishing the Department of Dental Sleep Medicine,to meet international standards of evidence-based medical practice and patient care.

Till 2023, he has experience of over 6000 patients with allergy-and sleep disorders , including patients on constant follow up in 9 countries beyond India. At this institution ,
besides patient care, he is actively involved in research in medical sciences, teaching of medical graduates, postgraduates, paramedicals and is official guide to the PhD Scholoars of the University of Kashmir. His constant dedication and hard work is expected to prove of exemplary performance in future.
